Hmm, maybe you can attach a Hallmark Card Shop Search or visit through their selection of ideas? Look not only at the thank you section, are also in the wedding section.

I love this site - though not directly mentioned in the laws, there are a few basic tips for writing a personal letter of thanks:

I do not know if there are sites like it - but maybe you can get some of the poems that part of the family in the future include seeing laws, etc.
I think he speaks from the heart is really the best way to do this. You can tell them what a wonderful son you raised and how happy you part of the family. Ensure Thanks for all your love and support and that there will always be a part of his life. Do you know your relationship with them is like - maybe I remember a poignant moment or a funny story about them. Do not worry, everything will cooperate

What I found is the MILS, but you can change ideas to fit both parents --
----
You are the mother I received
The day when I married her son.
And I want to thank you, Mom
For everything you have done.

She gave me a nice man
With whom my life.
You are a loving mother
I his lucky wife.

She used to stroke his head,
And now my hand.
She raised in the love of a child
And I was a man.
-------
Her Mother
"Mother-in-law, they say, and yet
Somehow can not forget,
"It is you who watched her child, as his opportunities
Who took him to his first hymn,
Who smiled with pride, love,
As I crawled to the first on his side.
"Mother-in-law, but, alas," Have you
Who sent you to be good and true;
When I was tired, almost asleep,
"It's your arms that are used flowing.
And when he injured his knee small
"It was you, kissed her tenderly.
"Mother-in-law, "they say, and yet
Somehow I have never forgotten
What I do not
To you who taught him to develop.
It trains your child to look around;
They have him for her husband, whom I love.
And I think today
When, with a grateful heart, I say
"Our Mother".
